You’re not alone mama. I have a 15 month old and 3 week old. I got ppd so bad with my first, and this time I have it again, but it’s so much more manageable then last time I think because I knew what to expect. I’m breastfeeding so do all the night stuff, but my husband is home. So similar boat but I’m sure you’re more stressed. Do you have family that you can lean on? It’s so hard. But as I’m sure you know it’s all a season, and temporary. It goes so fast. We will have a routine and be sleeping again soon! That’s what I always tell myself. It goes so fast and they grow so quick, I am trying my best to enjoy each phase but find myself looking for the future with hope for change!
@Yolanda I do not have any family close enough to be able to help me, sadly. I had a lot of anxiety with my daughter, but this go around it's but me like a ton of bricks. And thank you, I definitely needed that reminder. It just gets really rough
i definitely get it, my baby daddy’s on paternity leave & i still feel very alone.
Wow that sounds tough! Any family, friends or a babysitter that could help you get a nap, or could your husband wake up midday and take the kids for a few hours so you can sleep a bit and share the sleep deprivation? I don’t think most people function well with that little sleep! Hope you can get some relief at some point ❤️
@Liz my best friend is moving back from out of state, she'll be able to give me some relief later this week to help! Most of my people are an hour or so away, so it's definitely sucked lol. We're definitely trying to work out a schedule because I don't think I can handle this much longer
I get it. He works 12 hour shifts, but now you're working 24/7 with no sleep. I don't understand why he can't sacrifice a few hours of sleep just like you've been doing. A sleep deprived mom isn't good for anyone
Yes I have the worst PPA right now. As soon as I noticed it I started going to my hospitals postpartum support group and started with a therapist and highly recommend looking into seeing if your hospital has something similar! Hanging out with other moms that are going through the same things and feelings is making a big difference for me
Not this go around but the last I did. I've been speaking with a therapist this time and I think it's really what's helped me. I'd ask your doctor for a referral!
