Transition to own room?

Hello My son is 7 months old and is definitely ready for his own room. He has slept through the night with 0 wakenings now since he was about 7 weeks. My partner is ready for him to go into his room but I just feel scared. I’m so scared something will happen like him stop breathing or get his leg or arm stuck and I don’t knows. He is not a crier, even when he wakes up he will just talk to himself and usually wakes me up with the continuous ‘Iya, Iya, Iya’ (he means hiya as we say it to him a lot) I’m worried I won’t hear him wake up even with a monitor and I’m so bad at sleeping I do not naturally wake up at 6:30 when he does. I don’t know whether to set an alarm or what but I am stressed he will get upset and I won’t be there as I won’t hear him. How did you guys do the transition? How do you knew you’re going to hear them? My babies nursery is straight across from our bedroom do I just leave the doors open? He isn’t crawling yet so he wouldn’t be able to get out of his cot

If you’re worried, I’d say to have the doors open and start to close them a bit more every night. That way you’ll be able to hear him but transition yourself into having separate rooms x
