Totally agree with @Catalina! It sounds like you're doing a great job and your baby is clearly very happy and content. I worry about this too sometimes but I showed my little boy how I sort the laundry the other day then putting it all in the machine, turning it on etc and watching it go round and he was fascinated 🤣🤣 Remember everything is new to them so mundane chores are probably just as interesting as toys/games x
I don’t seek to entertain my child, I am trying to fit him into my everyday life. He has access to a lot of toys and books and can watch me do things and use his imagination otherwise. I am not a big fan of redirecting my life totally towards the baby, I am not sure it’s helpful in the long run… It sounds like you’re doing a brilliant job already and more than enough to make your baby feel involved and loved.
Chores or errands or just generally watching you interact with the world is entertainment! Don’t forget that! The day to day stuff we do to keep the house going is brand new & very interesting to them I found that it helps keeps my little one interested in his toys as well, once he gets bored of watching me (he’s not crawling yet) & I’ve finished doing what I need, then I get his toys out to entertain so he doesn’t see them all the time & they’re still exciting x
Thank you x
I put my baby in his play pen and get stuff done and he plays on his own.. also he he best way to get babies to be verbal is by taking them round the house and showing them things, so you can talk to your baby whilst you do things and it’s a form of education if that makes you feel better, but it sounds like you’re doing a great job and life doesn’t stop when you have a baby!
Remember that what you see is only curated bits, you never truly see someone's whole day. Plus, I'm sure I've seen it recommended several times from occupational therapists and the likes that involving babies in the chores and daily activities is helpful for them. Just think how popular the learning towers etc are, or how many toys mimic day to day objects in your kitchen, garden, workshop etc. I'm sure your baby is well entertained, they don't have the same notions of boring as we do.
