I washed all the crib sheets and packed them away last weekend but I plan to do the same this week, get crib ready with one set of clean sheets and put another sheet over it to avoid it getting dusty. I’m 33 weeks, for reference. Worst case just have an extra set of sheets in the drawers so if it’s been there for a month and you find it gets dusty you can easily switch it out.
I'm going to get it all washed in a few weeks -worst case and we need it before its all been done it will be washed and dried in under 2 hours. I won't put the sheets on until she is born. I will open the mattress packaging to air them out soon. I will put the Moses basket in the living room with a spare sheet we have wrapped round it so the dogs can get used to it being there and learn to keep away (they are big dogs that think they are little and throw them selves on the floor or slide down walls/furniture to lay down)
I'm 30w2d and will be washing anything that I've not yet washed this weekend. I found out yesterday that I have low amniotic fluid which if it continues getting lower, then we'll need to deliver early. I've washed all her clothes and prepped hospital bags, but your post was a reminder that I still need to tackle bedding as I've not yet set that up. 😅 I'd suggest washing as soon as you can and keeping it all bagged up and in storage. I have 2 cats who love my my baby's pram and car seat and keep napping in them, so it's a massive hassle keeping them off those, so the only option is to just keep everything washed, bagged up and stored away until needed.
Its really hard to tell when exactly but you can wash it and then put a second bedding/sheet on top of the one you already washed and you can just remove it once the baby arrives. My baby came at 29 weeks so not sure if there is a best time :) x
