Moses basket

My 3 week old does not like his moses basket. He has colic, I'm honestly out of ideas. What do i do? He hates lying down flat on his back, he settles much better on us or even his little horseshoe pillow or his bouncer but I've heard alot about safe sleeping, positional asphyxiation. I usually do let him sleep on his little pillow with me next to him if he won't settle in his basket but I just don't know.

Try a sleepyhead in the Moses

Elevate the mattress a little, put a rolled up towel under it? That should help. My daughter had colic bad and this helped her x

My little one HATED the Moses basket. We swapped to a next to me cot and his sleep improved. It’s also hard for them to sleep alone at this age and the startle reflex doesn’t help either. Are you swaddling? I also really worried about safe sleep so I feel for you.

I work in a nursery and they have talked so heavily about SIDS. I’ve had the same issue and i ended up sleeping in the living room with my baby in my chest. But I found using a swaddle and placing him in the next to be crib really helped. It’s adds a level of security and comfort to the baby 😊 i have also tried to lessen the amount I allow my baby to sleep on me during the day

Mine was the exact same, please please look up safe cosleeping and ever chest sleeping (happy cosleeper on Instagram) it saved my life and probably my babies, I never wanted to and I tried and tired for weeks/months, but I fell asleep holding my baby when she was a month old and when I woke her head was tipped back and it was absolutely terrifying. I then learned how to safely cosleep so if I was ever getting to the ooywhere I thought I could fall asleep or it was taking so long and back and forth that I was going crazy (😂) id safely set up for cosleepinf. Some babies just HATE the cot/moses so it's worth knowing. I moved to fully cosleepinf at 9 months and it's crazy how much happier we both are for it. I'm not saying you have to cosleep but it's definitely worth knowing incase you have a really really bad night and just need to sleep

Also I don't know if you are or not but there's research to show that a breastfeeding mother following the safe sleep 7 and cosleeping actually has lower chances of sids than cot sleeping. I understand being scared about safe sleep, but if neither of you are sleeping that's equally dangerous in my books

Iv just got the purflo sleeping nest that goes in my babies cot. I’m finally getting some sleep! It’s expensive but supposedly the only safe nest for overnight sleeping. Hope this helps x

Ours hated the moses so daytime naps were all contact naps or in the carrier or pram for weeks. At night he preferred the next to me
