@Lisa Thankyou! I’ll try this! Dreading it too😩🙈
If she bites down shes not actually eating just unlatch my baby only bites me occasionially hardly ever when the teeth come if there eating they wont bite its usually after when there done then thts when u just unlatch
my daughter got teeth at 5 months and we had a really rough time with biting when she was about 8 months. i always unlatched her by putting a finger in her mouth and i'd put her down away from me for a few minutes so she didn't associate biting with getting fed. i also realised that she tended to bite me when she had teeth coming in, so having teething toys handy was helpful. my sister in law bought me a nursing necklace that baby could bite if she did start to bite me. i also found her latch changed quite a bit when she first got teeth and for a while her teeth rubbed on my left side for some reason, to the point it got cut badly. if you get an injury like this, from rubbing or from biting, i recommend pumping on that side so it has a chance to heal! lots of nipple cream too. if you do want to continue when baby has teeth, it is definitely possible - my daughter is 23 months and we're still going, it was just a tough phase, but it gets easier. equally, there's no shame in stopping whenever that feels right x
I used to do this trick take my two fingers around my nipple and if she gets to bite the fingers help ease ur nipple out and just stop feeding and try a soother then if they cry with a soother see if they are hungry after that and hopefully they won’t bite again
The health visitor advised me to pop a finger in the babies mouth to unlatch them when they bite down then relatch, and hopefully they learn biting doesn’t equal milk before the teeth come in… I’m also dreading the teeth 😝
