My daughter is almost 2 and a half and we are currently newly pregnant (almost 6 weeks). She will be 3 when baby is here. We also have a crazy dog who is her best friend. About 6 months ago we started talking about it but only recently decided to do it. She's almost fully potty trained too and so much more independent. The extra nursery hours help too. But you'll know when it's right xx
We honestly were one and done ish, we settled on if the first asked for a sibling then it was a go ahahah and sure enough by 2 he was asking. We got pregnant by the time he was 3 I think, and we now have a four year old and a 4 month old. I love the age diff. I get to have one on one time with both. My son is very talkative and pretty easy going. He listens for the most part and tries to help. But he just sees it as he’s helping me with everything that has to get done for us like food and laundry and stuff so he likes it. He also likes working with my dad and husband in cars so I get breaks with just the baby. He can ask for his stuff. At more independent but he still interacts and likes the baby. Full big brother mode. He said at he’s out for him and wants to teach him stuff. Or he pretends he’s talking to him and that he talks back. I think it’s fun. And even the bad days aren’t sooooo bad. I think I would lose it if they were like a year or two apart.
I have a wild working cocker spaniel, a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old and I’m going to be honest with you, it was really hard going from 1 to 2 children. We assumed I’d be able to take my toddler out of nursery and have them both at home but with my 2.5 being so high energy, throwing the mother of tantrums, it’s not been as enjoyable as I imagined and I’ve had to put him back in nursery to be able to manage my 5 month old. Whilst I know when they’re a little older they’re likely to be the best of friends, having them so close together has been challenging. Maybe if you’re little one is going to be 3-4 then it may not be as difficult as they’ll be talking more, a little more independent etc
I have 3 sisters and we’re all 2 years apart and my mil had 4 and they’re all almost a year apart or a little more
We also have two large dogs and a small one 😅
It's always gonna be starting all over again bc you redo everything. Doesn't really matter if 1 or 2 kids are in diapers. Very irrelevant to the big picture. My son just turned 3 and my daughter is 7m. They already are showing alot of interest in one another and is been easier having the baby occupy him sometimes. I think q bigger gap could possibly get harder for bonding as the older one will be getting friends school ect. I'm sure many siblings are close that have a bigger gap in just saying mine are far enough apart I got significant time with my first boy close enough together to have things in common.
Tbh I’m not worried about an age gap anymore. I’ll have a baby when my husband & I feel like we felt when we started trying for baby #1. Until we both feel that burning desire I’ll be on birth control. 🤍 Having a child took a lot out of me. Mentally physically etc. I’m not ready to go through that again no matter how much my ovaries try to tell me otherwise lol
Yea we’re trying for baby number 2 now …current have a little boy who is 3 in January,I couldn’t not try to give him a sibling hoping it’s easier then going 0-1 children as they fit into your life and we now know what to expect for the newborn faze lol xx
@Laura I thought I knew what to expect but my god children can be so so different 😂 my first was dream baby, perfect on schedule, fed and slept well. My 2nd was the opposite! Has put me off a 3rd 😂
Whenever you and your partner are ready. We wanted them to be semi close in age but we semi kept pushing it back too. We’re now pregnant with baby #2 (28 weeks) due in December and I have an almost 5 year old (in October- next weekend) and we also have 1 dog and 1 cat. They’re gonna be 5-6 years apart.
