@Rhiannon that’s a good point! I had 9 days of pain with two being especially intense…but I honestly haven’t felt well since last Monday and can’t eat and just feel crampy. It’s a 9 mm stone so they said I won’t be able to pass it. I feel good today for the first time in a long time but know that horrid pain will come back Have you had a normal life since removal?? Any issues with weight gain? I read that weight gain can be an issue with removal since your body has a harder time digesting fats
Not after pregnancy, but I had mine removed postpartum. Recovery went well but I listened to Dr instructions about limiting lifting. I have been able to eat and tolerate foods pretty normally since then.
I've not had any issues since removal, which was around 1 year ago. I healed well and haven't had to change or limit any food types at all, and I've not gained any weight. I feel normal, tbh but I'm not sure if that may change further down the line. However, it's a very common surgery, and so many people have no gallbladder and live completely normally.
Not during pregnancy, but I had mine out last year. if it's a large gallstone, that's actually much better than lots of small gallstones as it's the small ones that move through the bile ducts and cause blockages and agony, big ones, not so much. Even with the small ones, it took over a year on a waiting list to get mine out so first thoughts would be to wait until after baby is born unless your Dr thinks your gallbladder is highly infected, then it's more urgent. What's the docs recommendation? Have you had extreme pain with it? X
