Sex after mc

You can try again once you’ve got a negative pregnancy test which is usually after 3 weeks x

@Julia thank you for your reply, but currently we are not actively going to try to conceive again. This is just for the sole purpose of intercourse. So does that mean until I get a negative test we shouldn’t? X

Unless you are going to use condoms then I wouldn’t recommend it as you’re very very fertile after a miscarriage and if you do fall pregnant within the next 3 weeks it’ll be hard to tell if it’s a new pregnancy or left over hormones from the last pregnancy x

Thank you!! Makes sense. So out or curiosity I’ve just done a test and it has the most barely visible line, only reason I can see it is due to actively looking for it in daylight. In comparison to my ones that progressed for 6 weeks and how dark it was 10 days ago on the day of my miscarriage. Would this class as a negative? X

No that would still be classed as a positive as there’s a faint line. It’s needs to be totally negative with just the control line and nothing else sadly. I had that as well and rang the early pregnancy unit and they said because there’s still a line you have to wait which ended up taking it to the 3 weeks mark. Give it till Monday morning and test again because that line can stay there for a while until the 3 weeks mark. Another reason for waiting for 3 weeks is incase there is any retained tissue from the miscarriage x

I would wait the 2 /3 weeks for sex and even anything like tampons x
