Endless Crying

Is anyone else struggling with endless crying? My baby is 5 weeks old and spends most of his time crying unless he is asleep or at the breast (which he never wants to come away from!). It’s very rare he will sit with me content. Even cries in the pram and the carrier. I feel at such a loss and like such a failure that I can’t soothe my baby or make him happy 😓.

5 weeks here and could have written this myself!

Mines exactly the same, wonder week app says fussy phase ends as of yesterday lasted a week and he’s back to terrible today I’m at my wits end!!! I’ve changed his milk back to normal from reflux I’ve changed his teats, used infacol for weeks and reduced his feeds as he was apparently being over fed. I’m not able to enjoy my baby as I would have liked as all he does is scream like he’s in pain. Taken him to hospital and they said most likely colic so I’ve bought colief and anti colic bottles hoping this does the trick!

It’s so incredibly hard, he is so beautiful but I am not enjoying this stage at all especially when my partner is at work, and he cries all day long. I feel like we can’t do anything either as he will just scream the whole time! Really hoping he is going to grow out of this!

My baby is now 8 weeks old (she was 3 weeks early!) and was similar. Something has changed in past week or 2 and she just loves going in her pram awake?! Before she would scream the street down. Everything with babies is a phase. Crying tends to peak at week 6 and decrease thereafter. You aren’t doing anything wrong but I know it’s so hard. It’ll pass quicker than you know

Yes! All of the above. Can’t even put her down on the bed, bouncer, mat for 2 mins without her losing it

9 weeks today! 3.5 weeks early and I'm in the exact same boat the last few days! Barely any sleep and only thing that seems to calm him is getting in the bath with me!

My little boy is 5 weeks too and is the exact same. The only time he wasn’t crying was when asleep or feeding. I changed bottles, teats, formula and used infacol but nothing worked. I went to see the GP and they told me to use gripe water before a feed and prescribed infant gaviscon to add into his formula. He is like a different baby now, so content and calm. It’s been a game changer! I definitely think he must have been in a lot of discomfort with trapped wind and silent reflux!

It could be reflux! Ask for reflux medication like Gaviscon

My first cried 24/7 when he was awake. Everyone said it only lasted 6 to 8 weeks. But no. It lasted 6 to 7 months! Saying is was hard is understating just how miserable we were. He was in so much discomfort. I would rush him to the ER all the time thinking there was something really really wrong. And get sent home with ZERO help. His pediatrician was no help at all, he kept blaming me without offering as much as a suggestion. I am now 6 weeks pp and was starting to see similar signs with this baby. So i tried cutting out glutten, sugar and dairy. It did not work. I tried gentle formula, did not work. So i stopped breastfeeding and put him on goatmilk. It worked. Could have been a coincidence. You gotta try and see what works for your baby IF he doesn't outgrow this cry soon.

Oh that is my LO!!! I’m close to a breakdown 💔
