My experience with nexoplanon removal

Hey ladies, I wanted to hop on here and tell you all about my experience with the nexoplanon. I got the bar inserted at my 6 week PP appointment back in 2022. I’ve been dealing with extreme fatigue and horrible 3 week long periods since then. I finally got it removed last Monday, and I feel like a new person. I knew that it was causing me issues but I had no idea how much it was dulling my life and affecting my mental health. I finally feel genuine happiness again. I thought that the dullness I’ve been feeling for years was just what comes with being an adult and having a lot of responsibilities. I thought that I was depressed and overwhelmed when the whole time my birth control was the cause of everything I was feeling. I finally have that warmth in my chest again. I want to go watch my favorite movies, eat my favorite food, do my favorite things that I thought I no longer enjoyed. I haven’t been this happy in a very long time. All this to say, if you ladies have birth control, I suggest really thinking about if it’s the right option to you. I will not be taking birth control in the future after this experience.

I have the nexaplanon. I’ve had it 2 years now I haven’t had any issues with it.

@Julia Peters I wish I could find a birth control option that works that good. Any that I’ve tried changes my personality completely or makes me gain a ton of weight :/

@Alexis Cole I know :(. Have you looked into iud or the Nueva ring ?

I had the nexaplon shot from april 2022 till february of 2024 then i ended up getting pregnant right after i got took out but i aint have no issues with it

I’ve tried so many birth controls and they make my life awful. 😣 ppl say try iud… the copper one is non hormonal 🙄 however it causes inflammation in your body. Inflammation isn’t good… granted fake hormones aren’t t good either. All BC has their downs and only up is not getting pregs. Anything you put in your body that isn’t supposed to be there can affect your mental and physical health
