“The baby” got my oldest a bubble machine and some other activities should could play independently. The caveat was these toys were only available to her when I needed her to be independently engaged (while I was nursing/soothing the baby/handling a blow out/etc.) and the rest of the time they got put on a shelf in her closet so they maintained their novelty.
Mine were expected to be 20 months apart and they were 19 months 3 weeks apart! My boy who was almost 20 months got his newborn sister a cow stuffy and a sleeper that said little sister. She got him coloring books with crayons and one of the pads that comes with a marker that will show up with color whenever you use that marker.
@Carley I really like this idea thank you!
My kids are 21.5 months apart. I got my oldest a “I am a big brother/sister” book. And a t-shirt that says “big brother/sister finally”. For my youngest, we got an outfit/onesie.
My twins were 21 months when my youngest was born! She “gave” them both beaded bracelets 🥰 I ordered them on Etsy. One each that said “big sis” and one each that said their name.
