Contraception

Is anyone on here thinking of contraception or gone on one . I was in depo about six years , came off because I felt I had been on it a long time , unplanned but ended up getting pregnant with my partner . Now i want to go back on because I’m not ready for baby number two just as yet. How’s everyone feeling about contraception?

I was on the pill..safe to say wasn’t as effective in my case 😂 however after I had my LG I went onto the depot definitely gives more piece of mind as it’s every 3 months by the GP so definitely puts my mind at ease xx

I love depo that’s what I was on and I’m going back on. It was very good for me and had no problems

I’m on the depo too, and I love it! No issues ☺️

I’m thinking of going on the depo after this 2nd baby (wasn’t planned, unexpected). I was on the pill before getting pregnant again but took a month break and now here we are. 🙂 xo

Combined pill always worked well for me x

@Lorraine honestly depo was so good for me mind you I was on it for about six years , came off it and I was pregnant right away

When baby is here and it's safe to do so I will be going back on the contraceptive pill until partner has the snip

I had the implant put in a month ago, I didn't want to go back on contraception but I had to until my partner can get the snip.

@Justina I mean 6years is a long time but good on you for that. How soon after getting pregnant??

I was on the depo but didn't get on with it. Put on loads of weight and I think it did affect my mood. It's also not recommended for long term use, my friend has had lots of issues after being on it for years.

My LG is 3 weeks old and had an episiotomy so my current contraception is abstinence and healing, but I've told my husband once I'm given the all clear, I'm having the mirena coil put in again. I was on it for 1 and 1/2 years before I had it taken out to try for our baby and it was the best I'd been on as the implant made me get angry easily (the sound of my husband breathing drove me mad) & the pill was so unpredictable with breakthrough bleeds xxx

@Laurie I think everyone’s different tbh. I had no issues at all. Started first with patch and I got on very bad

@Justina Yes I'd agree. I've never got on with any contraception, the depo was all I could try 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s hard isn’t it , I had a pregnancy scare last week and I was shaking . I had a c section and wasn’t ready for another baby now 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’m due to have the implant put into my arm after being on the progesterone only pill for a good few years before I missed 2 days and now have my beautiful baby girl xx

I had the pill before my first daughter and then the implant in-between her and daughter number 2. Planning on going back on the pill until my husband gets his vasectomy.

I’m 4 months pp and got the mirena a month ago , going great so far. It’s already better than the pill and implant for me.

I’m on the depo too xx
