Prenatal anxiety

Hi all, any tips for managing prenatal anxiety? I generally suffer with anxiety and depression however I have been doing really well this whole pregnancy. However, with just 3 weeks to go, I’m incredibly anxious. Some of my anxieties include being worried that my son is going to have me because his life is about to be turned upside down, he’s been my whole world for 4 years and now he’s going to have a little sister in the mix. I’m also very anxious about the change from one child to two. I don’t really have a support network other than my husband. Please tell me it’s normal to experience these worries 😭 they’re literally keeping me awake the last few nights (posting at almost 4am).

Hi!!

We're in the exact same boat

You’ll be okay! Just like with your first there will be some times that feel harder than others, but watching your babies grow together and teach each other things is so beautiful. Mine are 3 & 1, so a smaller age gap but I had similar worries before giving birth. Be sure to involve toddler as much as you can, helping by handing you things or watching/checking the baby for you (just let him feel like he’s doing things you are appreciative of). At first it may be difficult and that’s fine, but try to find time with each individually too (this helps with your relationship with the kids, but was also sooo rewarding for me) this could be reading with toddler before bed or playing for 10mins whilst baby naps, but don’t let him feel like he has none of your time anymore and I think he shouldn’t be too upset. Also explain to him clearly the changes that will be taking place so he isn’t shocked by a new person coming to live with you. Best of luck! ❤️

@Shaconia wow thank you so much for this 🥰❤️
