I never understood why some moms feel pressured into having a full face and hair done before, during, and after GIVING BIRTH.

I think we can get a pass for looking crazy lmao.

As someone who’s had 3 kids, i always look at my pp pictures and think I’ll try to look decent next baby and it just never happens. but i can understand wanting to look cute after seeing what I’ve looked like 😂

Honestly I feel like the biggest thing is just being clean and showered! Rinsing off after that first postpartum sleep is amaaaaaazing 😂 And clean hair helps a ton with the photos without going overboard imo

Whilst giving birth I really don’t care lol. I would feel overstimulated with make up on and hair done during labour. After labour it does feel nice to freshen up but I still don’t bother with the glam.

After birth I loved having my shower and putting some powder and mascara on. I felt more human, clean and was happier having tons of photos taken. My husband is a cameraman so I’m always being lensed 😅 I don’t feel like myself though without mascara on.

putting on makeup was the last thing i was thinking about while pregnant and while about to give birth.

Some are self conscious and have their preferences. I preferred my natural glow personally 🥰

I don't wear makeup except for special occasions anyway so it's hard for me to understand doing makeup daily in general, but doing it to give birth is CRAZY to me. How do you even do it? Are you supposed to spend your early labor doing your hair and makeup instead of trying to take the time to relax and prepare to birth a human? Isn't it difficult to effectively do hair and makeup while you're having contractions? Do you just put the baby aside and miss those first moments with them so you can have your hair/makeup touched up after they're born for pictures? Or do you not take pictures of their first moments at all until you have a chance to do it? I'm not one to judge, if that's what you wanna do cool, but as much as I've tried I can't figure out the logistics of it much less why you'd want to bother

Some don’t feel pressured, they do it for their own happiness…and that’s okay. I looked a hot mess lol but I think it gives some people the “feel good”.

@Lacy I think the women that have been able to do this have probably done so if they’re labor was slow to come on, or maybe planed sections bc I could not fathom in any of my scenarios either

@MJ_xo A planned section I could see working. Neither of my labors would have worked out at all, my first was 19 hours so by the end of it I would've been a complete mess of running/smeared makeup and knotted hair and with my second contractions went from 1 to 100 in about 20 minutes and my doctor barely managed to catch the baby 😂 If I'd stopped to do makeup I would've been catching him myself

@Lacy 😂😂😂 My last baby pretty much happened like your second. My husband missed the birth
