@Helen I can’t get the medicine into him because he just wants to sleep. I tried getting him alert playing music and showing him pictures but he is exhausted and ends up in a state crying and then is almost sick. He is a wee soul.
Last year my little one had rsv and Bronchiolitis. I'm sure we had antibiotics. We own both the calpol plug in and the vicks humidifier. We use the humidifier when he is really poorly and we bought it when he had rsv and Bronchiolitis as we find the menthol stronger. See how little one goes but if your atull struggling to wake him and he really isn't himself then I'd maybe get an out of hours appointment to be seen. I hope your okay. You've got this mumma x
They dont suggest it but you can put calpol in milk, maybe put a small amount of milk in with his calpol. However if he doesnt drink it all you wont be able to give anymore calpol for 4 hours.
Finally at 2.30am I managed to get some paracetamol in to him and it eased my nerves so much. He slept much more soundly after than and seems a little bit better today. He isn’t really eating but drinking plenty so that’s ok for now. I am hoping this passes soon. 🧡
In all honesty once I gave it to my baby while she was sleeping I just pressed a little and she started sucking the syringe similar as the bottle so gently kept pressing while she was sucking On the first moment I just barely put it in her mouth and let a little go
I'm so sorry - that is so so tough. Could you try giving the calpol on a spoon or mixed in with some yoghurt. When our baby had bronchiolitis we found a calpol plug in helped plus calpol etc (and also he just ended up sleeping on us a lot).
