Me x

TMI but I have had the absolute WORST haemorrhoid for the past few weeks - unable to even walk sometimes, felt really anxious about going into labour with it there. Unfortunately mine burst yesterday (not pretty) and ended up in A&E lol instant relief tho, feeling better than I have in so long! They’ve prescribed Schiraproct ointment and suppositories, which are the heavy duty medications I think. Ask your doctor to see if they can prescribe it! Other than that, icing the area for 15 minutes, then a Epsom salt Sitz bath for 15 minutes and then applying Germoline helps. I also bought a Peri-bottle from Boots to sooth the area when I go to the toilet too ☺️

I find that the suppositories work a lot better than the creams, and the prescription ones are the only ones that help me.. the ones you can buy over the counter don’t really do much for me xx

@Ebony I agree, over the counter medications can be a bit crap. The Anusol Natural was actually really good tbf, didn’t shrink anything but gave such amazing relief and can apply it whenever you want xx

👋🏻 I just did a few days ago. I pushed out a big baby using only gas and air and didn’t think about them once. I haven’t really noticed them since either, I hope that is reassuring!

The pressure of baby won't help so they'll likely go after labour. I had thrombosed one and I don't think I've had pain like it but I had prescribed cream and suppositories and they have helped massively but doc won't look at them again until after baby. It's very normal and will reduce/go after baby pressure off

I did with my first and will have to again with my second! They were the last things on my mind while in labour though so don’t even worry, they’ve seen it so many times! Mine went I think 2 months after I gave birth even though I had them all through pregnancy xx

@Cassie that is so reassuring! I was wondering if I was going to cause myself a prolapse 😂 I’m used to having piles and fortunately most of the time they don’t cause me any pain, so this makes me feel so much better about labour xx

I did too! Also pushed baby out just with gas and air, I did think about them - told the midwife to ignore them 😂 obviously they don’t care! But omg the relief when baby came out, the first number 2 after birth was easier than the last week of pregnancy 😂💗
