Overstimulation

What do you all do when you get overstimulated? I have depression/anxiety and I feel like that happens to me pretty easily. Especially since my son is 2 and is in a hitting phase. I don’t want to lose it on him or shut down 😔

Breath work. Listening to brown nose with headphones or ear buds. Meditation. Prioritizing nutrition, hydration, sleep, & time outside.

I always step away. I go to the bathroom or another room, close the door a little and run the water. I just listen to water for like 5 minutes. Sometimes I write exactly what I'm feeling at that moment. Sometimes I put a song on. I also get some water

I started taking ashwagnda and 5 htp. It’s helped me so much. I also have paired that with grounding and meditation.

Lots of breathing and TBH AirPods 😂 I find that having them in, even if nothing is playing, reduces sensory overload from sound.

I go into the bathroom and take breaths

I get him dressed and go to the park or let him play in the backyard

Might not help in your situation but google loops earplugs… they help cut down some noise but supposedly you can hear conversation (I’m looking into them myself) I know you’re issue is the hitting but I feel like it all adds up

I agree with everything mentioned, and also take a multivitamin.

Outdoor time

Breathe, and be alone for a bit until i calm down. Then watch a cute cat video, and come back
