I am right there with you. Today has been a day! Being constantly switched on in 'Mum Mode' is tough and I completely understand what you mean with needing to lie in a dark room. I'm exhausted too. Everyone keeps saying it gets better, hopefully it will but just know you are not alone! 💕
I don’t know if you ever get completely ‘used’ to it, there will always be good and bad days/weeks - even when they’re older I’m sure there will be lots of periods where we’ll be in the midst of a breakdown because they’ve drawn on their walls and pulled toilet roll all round the house🤣 don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s hard but certain things will get easier and other challenges till arrive but we’ll all get through it! I do find it hard having no break like even on the weekends it’s constant 🤣
This might sound like a really simple thing to do, but as soon as baby goes down for his first nap, making myself a cuppa, doing a little bit of basic skincare and running a brush through my hair makes me feel like I have it all together for the rest of the day, it's so simple but so helpful for me, also if baby is having a clingy day he goes in his carrier so I can get some cleaning done by midday most of my chores are done so I can just spend the rest of the day focused on my LB, also, might be worth having a nap while baby naps (if your baby naps long enough) it's all about finding things that help you hun xx
Is it more cumulative exhaustion? My LO is a good sleeper but I was speaking to a friend today and even though I get 4-5 hrs each night which is good compared to other mum's, it's not 7-8 hrs like I had pre-baby. We're at 3 months now and I have another cold and I think my body and mind are just a little done. I am going to post-natal yoga tomorrow and I'm hoping this might help me. Do you have someone partner/family who can have baby for some time even 20mins just so you can take some deep breaths and chill?
Maybe schedule your friends, neighbours and family members to take your LO for a walk once a day? I always do that and having 1,5 hour everyday in complete silence for a nap, read, scrolling insta or doing a facemask is godsend 😊
Get out and about, I find it's much easier to be out the house with baby than in the house. I go and have a coffee and people watch, BG is normally wide awake taking it all in. A walk somewhere nice helps also, get help when and if you can. I know it can be tough, my girl is EBF and won't take a bottle so it's all on me, but I like to remind myself that she is only this little for such a short time and I will someday be 70 wishing for these days back 💕
Hey Tia, no advice for you really just to send you lots of love. I’m right there with you! Love spending time with my daughter but also just exhausted recently
