When to switch out of the crib to big kid bed?
Has anyone switched their toddler to a big kid bed yet? My almost 2yo is still in a crib. Looking for some advice or tips and tricks on how to switch. ☺️

I switched my little guy from crib to toddler bed at 15 months. Few days of adjusting and getting him to stay in it but had no issues otherwise

We switched my son about 2 months before his 3rd birthday. We took one side off of the crib so that not much changed all at once. We also needed to get a rail as he did fall out of bed and wake himself up. (Only about 8" off the ground) I suspect my daughter may transition a bit earlier than he did, but I'm not rushing her out of the crib any time soon! I think it depends on the kid. And your tolerance for them having the freedom to move around. If you don't trust them to leave them unattended for 5-10 minutes, they probably have no business getting out of the crib. I think taking the side off the crib for the transition (if you're going to get a big bed) is a good start. My son can sleep on all sorts of beds now without issue. Also, once you do transition, you might find an "ok to wake" light/clock really helpful.
