@Grace oh fuck Ok. Thanks for sharing girl. I've never been on birth control before but I JUST had this baby and I know that I am super into my husband and can easily have another baby too soon if I'm not careful so I started considering bc for the first time in my life. I was hoping for something non hormonal but thats a vaginal implant and I CANNOT do that. I hear bad things about the shot and worry I might skip a day on the pill. I want the least side effects.
I hated it , my periods were super long
@Kirsten I’ve had the shots ( gained weight ) I had the patch but if your skin is sensitive do t recommend, I’ve had the one in arm periods was super long , last thing I had was pills I liked better but with a baby I would prob forget to take it lol . I’m not getting on birth control this time only cauce we want more kids and took us forever to have this one , I also ended up getting a cyst on my ovary’s and now I have one ovary
I did not gain any weight on nexplanon. I liked it a lot and had it in for three years. Didn’t really have any bad symptoms. The only thing was I would have a period for a couple months at a time and sometimes it would take away my period from a couple months at a time as well
@Ashley I'm sorry to hear that you only have one ovary but my heart soars when to hear that you are going to try for another baby and that you have this baby after trying. So happy for you. My pregnancy and birth were very special because of my dear, sweet husband. He is incredible and never hesitates to help me. I would LOVE to be pregnant at least one more time but I know it would be best for our family now if we wait and become stable before doing that.
@Kirsten thank you :) my girl is a month old so we are going to wait as well
@Ashley what did you name her?
@Kirsten Raegan
I bleed everyday since the day I got it lost hella weight
I had it and didn't have any bleeding. I plan to get it again because I had two babies only a year apart and need a break
@Alyssa do you mean that it stopped your periods all together?
I’ve had three of them. Each time had different periods. My first I bled constantly. My second two I barely bled at all, and the cramps were mild. My biggest problem is I put all three in the same arm - so scar tissue built up and my third bar got “stuck” in the tissue. I needed a minor surgery to remove it. Still don’t regret going with it though! Overall a fairly decent experience
I recommend the copper IUD, it’s non hormonal !
I got mine put in the morning after I gave birth and haven’t had any additional bleeding after the after birth bleeding stopped. I’m still super newly pp so my actual period hasn’t came back yet but along with giving birth and bf I have already lost 20 lbs in two weeks
My experience with nexplanon was horrible! I had it for a year and the entire year I had heavy spotting bleeding every single day. My doctor told me I needed to wait 6 months to adjust but nothing changed the next 6 months they had me take pill birth control on top of the nexplanon to get the bleeding to stop and I had horrible headaches and gained a ton of weight. I had a few friends have similar experiences as well!
