@Kiara yes. The doctor suggested I have one done since I am 37. After 35, your percentages of having a baby with a chromosome abnormality increases.

Noo !!! Don’t do it I remember reading something on my what to expect book about how they don’t practice that as much anymore
You can do genetic testing with blood
And check for chromosomes with blood but I wouldn’t let them mess with anything regarding your baby if it’s not with c ray technology
@Elizabeth really? I would definitely not do it for that reason. There were concerns with my pregnancy and my providers still said they wouldn’t recommend an amnio. I got pregnant at 37 and delivered at 38 and baby is perfect, age isn’t a reason to do an invasive procedure that can risk having miscarriage etc…
Hi! :) I had an amnio at 22 weeks pregnant due to soft markers found on an ultrasound. Not painful at all! I was more nervous than anything - I did have a little leakage after and put myself on bed rest for like 2 weeks until I was sure everything was ok. The findings were benign but it was a great peace of mind. Wishing you and baby much health!!
