Toilet question 🚽

So Lily is fully trained and has decided she wants to to ditch the potty too and just use the big toilet! We have a Peppa Pig seat to go on the toilet however she doesn’t want to use this she just wants to go on the toilet as it is and is able to hold herself on there, I was going to get us one of those family toilet seats that has the smaller seat built in for her as we need to get a new toilet seat anyway! But with her sitting on the big toilet already should I just ditch the child seat part all together? I kind of feel bad that she has to hold herself on the toilet but that’s what she wanted to do so she must be okay with it? 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

We have never used a toilet seat for Elodie she has always balanced herself 🤣 If that’s what she’s happy to do it leave her to it haha

If she’s happy to balance herself then I’d leave it as is! Maxi won’t use the potty or the little toilet seat he’s always just balanced!

My little boy likes to balance himself too 😂😂 he also has a little set of steps with a smaller seat attached that he loves to set up himself xx

We have the family toilet seat and it’s so handy. My son has never liked balancing himself and was scared of the toilet when we first started toilet training. He loves his little seat though, gives him independence to do it himself. If your little one is good with balancing for a wee and a poo then might aswell not bother.

@georgia yeah Lily was scared of using the big toilet without her seat a few weeks ago then all of a sudden she just started balancing herself on there and now that’s how she does it haha, she’s happy to go off and do it all by herself too so I think we’re best sticking with this way then x

If she's happy then leave her I think! In public though I'd insist on a portable training seat you can wipe after use as you don't want to be holding those toilets!!

@Peer95 I hadn’t even thought about that! We do have a carry potty that we take out with us and she’s still happy to use that when out and about. I’ve also noticed that a lot of the kid places we go to for days out have the children’s seats or children’s small toilets which is helpful too x

If they're happy stick with a big one! We have a portable seat to put on top of the big one, but she won't go if we're out and forget it which is annoying even if she says she really needs to go and we're holding her stable.

@Kerrie that's good! We have a potette so we have either a toilet training seat or potty in one. Mine actually said she needed a wee in Sainsburys at the weekend and went in and it was so grotty I'm glad I had the potty 😅 I wouldn't have even wanted to put her training seat on it tbh

@Jess Lily used to be like this a few weeks ago too wouldn’t even let us hold her on there and would just cry and say she’s scared. I’m not sure what changed but now she’s happy to hold herself on there x
