Christmas gifts

Hi all, I’m curious to hear what others plan on spending per child for the Christmas holiday. Do you spend less when they’re younger? How many gifts do you try to have for each child? Thanks in advance

We usually end up doing a few hundred per kid. My oldest mostly just wants money at this point so I'll probably do some clothes and money. My two little ones I try to keep the number of gifts and amounts as close as possible but ultimately I go off of what they'll like.

me & my bf said we’re going to spend a small amount (maybe like 60) until our baby actually knows what christmas is

Our son is still young, he's mainly gotten gifts from others for Christmas. Tbh, I'm all for less gifts is more and that Christmas/winter holidays is about togetherness more than it is the gifts you get.... Though the gifts are nice too

My baby still doesn’t get it but Im asking family to pick max 2 gifts. We buy gifts all year and I don’t want my son to see Christmas as just “the time of the year that I get a bunch of gifts”.

I just saw a minimalist YouTube video on this that I am going to start for everyone in the family (by no means minimalist at home but definitely attracted to the idea) You get about 1 gift to stand for 4 different areas. I really like head, heart, hand, home. I’d definitely look into it if you’re interested

@Monica there's also the 5 gift ideas Want , need, wear, read and something to do ( an experience)

@Elizabeth yep I’ve heard of multiple I think they’re all great!

I typically like to keep my budget around $100 but this yr it’ll be closer to $200 unless Black Friday lowers the cost but that’s because this year I’m gifting my son a play kitchen so that’s a majority of the cost.

@Rachel I wish my parents didn’t do this for us. Wasn’t able to appreciate or play/utilize gifts even now

@Nichelle sorry, I'm not sure I follow what you mean.
