Aspirin

Hi, Just found out I have low papp a but the thought of taking aspirin everyday for the next 6 months is something I don’t really agree with for myself personally! (Ofc nothing against the mothers who choose to accept the medical advice! We all want what’s best for our own babies) Is there anyone who didn’t take and baby was fine? This is my 3rd baby & I’ve never experienced low papp a

I’ve got low Papp-a however in my trust they don’t prescribe asprin as they don’t believe it makes a difference as there’s not enough research to suggest it does. I’m 7 months pregnant and not had any. ☺️ I think it just varies what your trust follows. All baby scans were perfect with no blood flow restrictions from the placenta. Even though I was told baby might be small due to this he is actually measuring 90th centile. The consultant did say some people are more affected than others and most of the time baby is still born at a healthy weight. I would maybe speak to your consultant/ midwife as they know your case best. ☺️

My trust doesn't prescribe it unless you meet certain criteria, which I didn't. I'm 36 weeks and have been absolutely fine without it - baby was measuring at 62nd centitle on last week's scan and has been tracking around that the whole way through. Placenta flow has been fine too 😊

I was supposed to be given it from finding out I had low pappa but wasn't told until much later in the pregnancy. I did end up with pre eclampsia and blood flow restriction to the placenta and delivered at 34 weeks but this could be completely a coincidence. Just wondering why you would choose not to take something that could potentially avoid issues further along
