Gurl sameeeeeee

23 weeks and i havent told anyone i also work from home

What job do you work from home. I want to work from home so bad :(

I WFH and told my manager at 20 weeks just to give her a heads up for planning into the new year and bec she is really understanding. But my last employer I didn’t tell until I was starting 3rd trimester… and then got laid off while on maternity leave 😤🙃 I think you gotta judge it by your manager/the work culture! At minimum give them enough time to get you a backup and give yourself time to ramp down

Ehh I just don’t know when to say something lol cause I started this new contract in September and they REALLY need me for so much stuff

@Cassie I’m in software development and testing

@Jo ok I’m a nurse and I told my employer that I’m expecting around 15 weeks and it’s like they want me to do more work before I go and pick up more shifts. They are more worried about staffing. I imagine wfh has more leniency

I told my boss at 20 weeks, i think its good to give them time to plan accordingly etc for your leave.

I work from home, I’m a contract manager for a health system. I told them at like 12 weeks as lots of planning is needed for my time off. I also like my boss and I tell her about most life changes.

Ok so it’s past time to tell lol.. I’m 24 weeks 😬

Since I’m due during a really busy time at my job, I’ve already told them and I’m 21 weeks

I worked in a male dominated field at my last job and didn’t want to know. I ended up having to tell my boss around 15 weeks because of appointments. My WFH job now, I didn’t say anything until I was 20 weeks and only did because of appointments and having to submit a request to roll over time. You legally don’t have to disclose until birth for most jobs and states.

I told them at 4 months pregnant

I’m super close with my director so I told him immediately at like 6 weeks just bc I knew I’d need accommodations during the first trimester! If I didn’t trust my boss or something like that I def would’ve waited til 5-6 months!

I did around 15 weeks. I’m a public school teacher and I was nauseous all the time. Also, finding a good long term sub can take a very long time so I wanted to give them a heads up early so they could begin the search for March!!

You would have to check your employee handbook and/or state laws. At my company, since we don’t get paid through them for maternity leave, they don’t require notice (although I would never recommend that 😂) but since the state pays maternity leave, it requires a minimum 30 day notice to qualify for pay and job protection

I told my job at 8 weeks, only because I had a still birth at 23 weeks with my daughter, so I wanted them to be aware of this from the jump. I work from home and in the office so it was gonna be known well before I hit 20 weeks which I was showing starting at 13 weeks

Now would be the perfect time so you can get any accommodation needed. Longer breaks, 1-2 bathroom breaks an hr, shorter work hours, an extra break to rest if your job stresses you, excused doctors appointments…..Girl take advantage while you can

@Kyia yeah you’re totally right cause I keep having to think of lies for my appointments lol

It’s very obvious from my bump I’m pregnant but I have yet to announce it to my management and I’m 23 weeks
