Did I come off too strong or did they find someone else?

So, I applied to this job and the recruiter reached out to me on Monday this week to see if I was still interested and when my availability was. I got really excited and replied as soon as I received the email saying that I’m available between my lunch hours and then I emailed again because I forgot to add that I could be flexible if needed and I haven’t heard back since then. I’m kicking myself because did I come off too strong? It’s all I’m thinking about now. I’ve been trying to find a new job to get out of my current toxic one for SO long. I can’t find anything. I could cry 😭

My current job left me hanging for like almost a month and then suddenly they were like “we need you to start immediately!” 😅😂

But I did check back in after a while! Definitely appropriate to follow up but I would maybe wait another day or two if you can.

I’d give them a call and ask for an update

Omg they replied shortly after I made this post 😂 I have an interview tomorrow! Anyone have any interview tips? I haven’t had a proper interview in a while, if you can’t tell 😅. It’s via Teams.

Prepare: Research the company and the interviewers, and review the job description. Consider what your background makes you a good fit for the role, and brainstorm answers to questions you might be asked.  Prepare questions: Prepare questions to ask the interviewer. Asking questions shows your interest in the role and your organizational skills. Be respectful: Treat everyone with respect and observe the workplace dynamics Body language: Practice good body language. Answer concisely: Keep your answers brief and positive. Reference accomplishments: Mention your relevant accomplishments. Follow up: Send a brief, professional, and friendly thank you note or email a few days after the interview. This shows your continued interest in the role.

Congrats on the interview! Have a look at this website for interview tips. It’s a goldmine, especially the stuff about what questions to ask. https://www.askamanager.org/category/interviewing
