Contraception

What are you doing for contraception after baby? When did you start? Did it affect bf? I’m 6month pp and just came on my 3rd period pp, it was late and honestly I was terrified, we want more children just not yet😂.. so now I’m thinking about what we should do, ideally I want something none hormonal, & was thinking copper coil, but then it could only be 12months before we’d like to try again, so I’m not sure if it’s suitable. Just looking for advice and personal experience? TIA x.

I love using natural cycles (temperature tracking) which is fully natural, non-hormonal and non-invasive. It takes daily tracking of your morning temperature but I think it's worth it and you get to know your body. Hope this helps x

Similar to what @Lydia said. I use the clue app to track my period and ovulation days. I can tell natural though when I'm ovulation without even having to look at the app. You get used to it.

I did the above.. not the temperature tracking but used the flo app to track & I’ve got a 4 month old 🙃 supposedly it was one of my low chance days and about a week after my peak ovulation so won’t ever trust that method again! Wouldn’t change him for the world & we actually tried before him and had an ectopic, then decided to move house first which then didn’t happen 😂

After my first I went on the mini pill, safe for BF and I didn't want anything long term as I knew we would want to try for a second. I've not long had my second and I've had an implant this time, I haven't had any BF supplu issues. We don't want any more babies but I was terrified of the idea of a coil 😅

I personally went back on the pill after baby 1 and it didn’t affect my supply. I wasn’t meant to get pregnant within 18 months due to having a section and wanting to fully heal before trying, so I trusted nothing but science 😂 no scares and pregnant again first cycle I stopped taking it.
