Postpartum care

I would love to know how you guys are taking care of yourself immediately after giving birth? When did you go back to your routine of self care? I need some tips, I feel like a shell of my old self 🥲

I was bad with my first but with my second i wnet right back into my old routine at the hospital. Baby will cry but take that 15-30minutes to feel like yourself.

I made sure my partner knew i was having a half hour shower minimum(!) everyday, this didn't include getting dressed etc. I always made sure to feed baby first as we EBF. I also made sure to eat lots of protein rich and health fat foods with carbs, as you can get pretty tired in those first few days xx

My little lady will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I just try to take a little bit of time each morning for myself, even if it's just 10 minutes it really helps

I am not into massive beauty routines and I feel that was a blessing because if you’re used to doing your make up and hair, then it will be a real struggle with a newborn. I’d have a shower every other day because there wasn’t time for more but a wash several times a day - you have to look after your lady parts 😉

I don’t feel like I’ve got back to my routine yet and my little one is 18 months 😬

Routine of self care started at day 1, told my partner I needed 1h in the morning to myself. I would do the last morning feed between 6am - 8am and bub fell back asleep. Showered daily, wash hair 2x per week, get dressed and make breakfast. I don't do my hair as it's natural and use tinted moisturiser. Used the bathroom every 3h because I had tearing with stitches and terrible hemmys 😅 during the day I either wear bub or put in a small bouncer that I carry from room to room if I need to do something. Baby is 7 weeks old today and when he is playing in his gym I exercise at home or we go for walks together with the dog. EBF also!
