It just means that you will have a consultant doctor in addition to your regular midwife appointments. I’m also under a consultant due to high blood pressure but reasons could vary from person to person. All I can say is that it’s a good thing and nothing to worry about :). I always feel very well looked after when I go to my hospital appointments and the doctor will explain everything to you, for example if you need to take any medication etc.
30+2 weeks Okay i will My midwife a call thank you so Much
Thank you @Ewa
An obstetrician is a consultant, you normally have one if you have a high risk pregnancy. I had a consultant in my second pregnancy due to my under active thyroid and previous concerns for high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy x
I’m moderate risk, but I have a very high BMI, so I’ve had an obstetric consultant looking over and reviewing my notes in between midwife appointments, which has also come with extra scans to determine baby’s growth. Tbh, he hasn’t been terribly involved as everything has been running smoothly (touch wood!) x
Hi samia. How far are you in pregnancy? At one of my early midwife appointments they advised a consultant to look over my case as I was considered high risk - nothing to worry about it's just that with my age, background, assisted fertility, it triggered on their system for me to have a consultant go over my case file, which is a good thing. If you're concerned, give your midwife or triage a call just to get them to clarify. You'll be fine x
