Harvesting colostrum but not breastfeeding

Hi there, so here is my scenario: I don't plan on breastfeeding for personal reasons, however, I'm interested in harvesting colostrum before birth to give to baby when they are born, before moving onto formula. Does anyone have experience of this/know how this would work practically?

I think I’m planning on this!

I harvested colostrum and then combi fed from birth with my son. But this time I might skip the breast feeding part I really didn’t enjoy it last time and it just filled me with self doubt but colostrum is great and full of goodness! Get as many syringes as you can and freeze them take them to the hospital when you give birth midwives will put them in freezer and you can feed them to baby when they show hunger queues. They quickly warm up in your hands. Once all out switch to formula . I kept some syringes in the freezer for when my son had his 1st vaccines think I read somewhere that it can help him have less reaction not sure how true it is 😂

This is great info thank you so much. So for the first feeds in the hospital I could feed baby the harvested syringes and then switch to formula?

This sounds a lot easier than I thought it would be

This is a great plan. Whether you decide to BF or not is your choice but colostrum is fab for babies when they first arrive and can also be useful to use topically on their skin. Harvesting colostrum has no bearing on breastfeeding x
