Sex after episiotomy

I’m currently 9 weeks pp, me and my partner tried to have sex twice but everytime I was so uncomfortable we had to stop. Is it normal? Not sure if they messed up my stitches as no one checked it since I was 5 days pp, the scar isn’t flat and online it says it should be flat, a bit worried they messed up when they were doing the stitches!
