Toilet training

My son is 4 in feb. He still wears nappies. When we are at home, and he has nothing on his bottom half, he will use the potty for wees. But as soon as he has pants or clothes on he will wet himself. I don’t know how to stop this and don’t want him wearing nappies anymore, especially before he starts school next year. Any tips or advice? Anyone else have the same?

Keep him pants all the time he will wet him himself for a week or two and he will get it done it with my three girls and they got it. I am not criticising but he will be getting confused if he is going in and out of nappy’s, you but just have more washing to do that’s the only down fall, x

Like Leeza said, keep him in pants. This way he will realise that you have to go to the potty otherwise you'll be all wet. Get rid of the nappies in the day, as yea that will have him confused. Potty training is a one way street, once you start you have to keep going. The fact he knows to pee in the potty is a plus and it's just having him be used to wearing clothes. You can just go out and buy drynites for bedtime and say these are special bedtime pants to keep him dry incase he doesn't make it to the potty at night (night-time is hormone related so once that kicks in he should wake himself to go potty)... just ride it out, keep the house warm as well. Kids are clever and do get a hang of things really quickly

Bribery… well… incentive…we repurposed Noah’s advent calendar to help with getting poo poos on the toilets… is working like a charm 😅

Same happened with my little girl. I kept nickers on her and eventually she realised she didn’t like the feeling of wetting herself x
