Having one earplug in is enough to hear and respond to your children, but will help tune out excess noise. Also, consider getting a hip seat for your youngest. She can happily cruise around with you, and you can have 1.5 hands free to do light cleaning, cooking, or playing with your toddler. Sometimes, it's easier to just carry them around than have them on the floor screaming for you...
Noise cancelling headphones 🎧 instrumental songs from my spotify playlist. A shower. Watching a movie on my own. Or having a nap.
I’ve been a mom 7 weeks lol but so far it’s been walking! I hate getting out of the house when it’s cold like now (I’m in Canada) but I feel so much better after it! Especially if I hit up forest trails. I live in the countryside so it’s very peaceful. And meditations whenever I need them. Inhaling “peace and calmness”, exhaling “relaxation”. I adore dr clodagh Campbell (Ireland) it’s the wellness psychologist on instagram and she has a lot of resources! She just came back from mat leave so she’s back to being active online. Wellness with sorcha also has some reiki and meditation workshops that I sign up for from time to time just to get some me time. But reminding myself to breathe is a big thing. Writing down things I want to let go of or writing up a list of things we need to do so they don’t sit in my head
I know this seems simple but just going out for a long walk in fresh air, in a forest or by the sea really helped calm my mind and also deal with stress/over-tiredness. Or soak in a bath whilst listening to a book on audible - I listened to ‘the modern midwife’s guide - first year’ her voice is calming and I felt like I was also being a productive mum whilst relaxing so no mum guilt!
