My baby wants to sleep face down 😵‍💫

I’m a ftm and my little girl tonight has become adamant she wants to sleep facing down. I’ve tried to move her head and turn her back onto her back but she keeps moving back into this position. She is 6 months old and now I’m scared to go to sleep in case she suffocates😫 Any advice or reassurance that she will be okay? Google is giving me mixed messages 😵‍💫

How's her neck strength and can she push things away? Did she roll into that position herself? If so, she should be strong enough to turn to the side. I... Usually move her face a little so I see me baby's nostril.

Do u recon shed stay on her back if you rolled a quilt and sort of shaped it around her body in a way where she feels like she’s being held sort of, not sure how to explain that better

If she rolled into the position herself and if she typically can lift her head and hold up her upper body with her arms then she will be fine. I do like to have their head facing more to the side though

My 6 month old sleeps on her belly every night, often face down. I keep the crib empty and she’s happy, sleeping 10 hours straight.

Also remember they used to tell people that the safest position for sleep was on the belly a few years ago x

@Mee she’s got really good neck strength and is currently attempting to crawl when she’s awake 🤣 yeah she keeps rolling her self into this position. I keep trying to nudge her face to the side so I can see her nostrils but she moves straight back to face planting the bed 🤦‍♀️

@Lana I could try this Thankyou !

@Lana this is true, Thankyou this perspective helps

Thankyou @Brittany @Rebecca, I might be able to fall asleep now lol

both my kids did this 🙃

My girl is 6 months and does this too! Freaks me out aswell lol..

@Lana yes they did and then when they started the ‘back to back’ campaign (in the 90’s) sids rates dropped by 82% so that tells you everything you need to know really.
