100%. It’s major surgery and because it’s so common, it’s often seen as something you should just bounce back from which is wrong in my mind. I was still having pains around 8 weeks and from there saw a huge improvement. I remember the doctor telling me to stop being so hard on my body as it was recovering from major trauma through surgery. Be easy on yourself, the doctors advise not to have another babe within 12/18/24 months (depending on situation) because it takes that long for your body to heal. So 5 weeks is teeny for any healing to happen. Good luck and take it easy (as easy as you can with a new born!) 🧡

Yes i’m nearly 5 weeks and its still painful, red and scabby! Everybody heals at different rates. My doctors said it could take up to 8 weeks to fully heal and then longer for side effects. All normal 😊 x

Yes! I was told if it were any other major surgery you’d still be in hospital recovering for a few weeks not sent home after a few days! I was still tender for a while afterwards. There’s a lot of healing that needs to happen. Be kind and gentle to yourself 💕

Absolutely! I still was sore about 4 months later and still had twinges from the nerves growing back at 8 months postpartum

Yes, totally normal I'm 2yrs post C section and I still get sore there sometimes and I still haven't got full feeling back in the part were they cut open it will get better. I had to go see a doctor every week because i just wasent resting and i was doing things i shouldn't of been doing and open my wound up everytime.

@Shannon thank you so Much how did they close your wound?

@Kourtney sorry for the late reply they closed all they way they used dissolvable stitches as I said it only keep reopening because I wasent resting and I was doing my daily chores
