I don’t know if I have PCOS anymore

I’ve been told since the age of 12 I’ve had PCOS. Now I’m in my late 20’s, I’ve been to a homeopath who was suspicious I didn’t have PCOS. I was curious and decided to dig deeper, and I’ve just found out I’ve never had an official diagnosis of PCOS. Now I’m confused. I’ve had high levels of glucose, and was told it was insulin resistance, but again, never been diagnosed! I have also never had any cysts. I’m so confused

Which country are you in? I’m from the UK and I was told I had pcos based on my symptoms (I was told 2 or more would mean diagnosis). I then paid privately for a gynae appointment and had an MRI as laparoscopy wasn’t safe for me, and it showed cysts and confirmed the diagnosis.

@Bee Scotland. I’ve had plenty of scans to check

@Bethany I have no issues that need input from gynaecologists. I was referred to endocrine years ago

Pcos diagnosis only needs 2 out of 3 of hyperadrogenism, irregular periods and cysts - as a feature of the syndrome of polycystic ovaries syndrome

@Izzy I have a little facial hair growth. My periods are regular and I have no cysts.

What did the scans show?

@Bee everything was normal. I have also had a successful pregnancy and got pregnant in the first month of trying.

Doesn't sound like you have it

Doesn’t sound like pcos really

@Izzy that’s frustrating 🙈

@Bee believed for years I did :/
