Sterilising calpol syringe?

Post jabs, do you need to sterilise the calpol syringe? I’ve just been washing in warm soapy water and now concerned I should’ve sterilised as everything else as this age is (3 month old) thanks ☺️

I used to sterilise them

I do

I didn’t know this either. I had a quick google and someone said it melted in the steam steriliser and wasn’t compatible with the UV steriliser. I did hot water washes and my baby was fine after the uses but I think I’m going to start putting it in the cold water Milton steriliser to ease my mind. I always struggle with the teething toys too as some say they can’t be immersed in water but that they’ll also melt in steam steriliser! I’ve been opting for the matchstick monkeys because they can be sterilised 🫣

I’ve got the tommee tippee steam steriliser and I always put the calpol syringes in there and they’ve been fine haven’t melted yet xx

Has anyone’s syringes melted in the MAM steriliser?

I put ours in the MAM and had no issues.

I put mine in the MAM too, and it didn’t melt

Thank you all!

I wash in warm soapy water and leave to air dry. With my first, I melted syringes trying to sterilise them in numerous ways 🙈

I didn’t even think to sterilise them!

@Aoife glad it’s not just me 😂

Not gonna lie I have never sterilised a syringe in the whole 14 months my baby has been here and we use multiple a day as he takes 4 different meds twice a day 🫣🤣

I put mine in our Milton solution and forget about them. I tend to just give them a wipe over with a baby wipe or wash them up as I have some cheap paracetamol that doesn't have the cap on it so the syringe gets yucky. They going in every time at the moment because my baby has a cold and I don't want to reinfect her

Never sterilised mine
