@RenitaIt is very weird to me too & to everyone I mention it too! Even the manager for mental health told me the psychiatrist was able to do it which is so weird yet they still referred me to the people that deal with disability. I don’t understand how they won’t do it considering the fact that I’m on literal medication for my depression
I'm sorry you're going through that on top of PPD. If I were you I would try to have another doctor do it
Going through trying to extend my leave with Kaiser Southern CA. They really make it difficult. I have a appt with a psychiatrist this week. Hopefully im able to extend
Yes a kaiser therapist can extend your leave they did for me due to a similar situation however they can only extend for maybe a week or so at a time which sucks
@Jessica I was able to speak with a psychologist and she extended me!! Ask to speak with the people that deal with disability & they will be extending you every 2 weeks! Make sure you fight for it because they’ll do everything to not give it to you I was literally having 3 appointments a day!!
I had to see a primary care doctor to extend my disability. I had my therapist write a note stating my disability and how they recommend that I take time off work, and the doctor signed the paperwork. You could try that route since your psychiatrist won't extend your disability. Which is weird because they are doctors themselves so they should be able to
