I had one in 2021 and was told at our 34 week consultant appointment but I’m pregnant again now and will be having another elective there and I was told they’ve changed the process where you get told a lot sooner to your due date now 🤷♀️ xx
@Lizzie I was told 36 weeks by my midwife really hoping it isn’t that late as I’ve Got 2 young kids that I need to sort childcare for
@Krystal Harding-Hillary I know it’s so frustrating - I’m in a similar boat (but just have one toddler) but we don’t have family local so my sister is having to come up for childcare for him whilst I have my little girl and she obviously needs to book annual leave etc (and she has 2 kids herself to organise childcare for whilst she’s helping us 🙈) Fingers crossed we get told sooner rather than later 🤞 xx
@Lizzie we are the same my mother in law works in a school so doesn’t get holidays so would be my mam. But she had to give a months notice for holidays
@Krystal Harding-Hillary update for you, I’ve had my 33 week consultant appointment today and she’s said that they now don’t give you a date until the week before the surgery so I won’t find out til 38 weeks. Hopefully it’s not the same for you so you can sort something out
@Beth feels like ages away that and that doesn’t give people much time to sort stuff out xx
@Krystal Harding-Hillary I know that’s what I was thinking today, I questioned it and she said it’s because people were getting pushed back too much with emergencies coming in etc. Still feels like a lifetime to wait 😂 xx
You normally have to wait til you are 36 weeks unless you are having baby earlier due to medical reasons :)
I’m due 30th Jan and I’ve got a consultant appointment on 10th dec to discuss my section. I’m hoping they give me a date then but I’ve a feeling they’ll wait til 36 weeks 😭 x
