FED UP

I’m currently on my 3rd course of antibiotics. Had c-section 9 weeks ago today. It’s been infected. Today I’ve noticed a sac has formed underneath. Anyone else had this?? I only have 1 more day of antibiotics and I’m fed up of constantly being on antibiotics at this point.

Hey. I had an open wound in my skin fold which smelt so foul. Midwife suggested cleaning area with warm salty water several times a day which really helped the area heal

Air it as much as you can. Hard when you have a baby look after. Bloody sucks I know. Two c sections here both got infected. Gp gave me antifungal steroid cream before to help get rid of infection. Keep it clean and dry. My scar is still niggly and have to be careful doesn't get infected after a year.

Make sure you wear lose clothing and also when bathing , make sure you dry it up before dressings . Are you getting any help with lifting the baby or around the house don’t put too much strain on it . With lifting

Yeah I’m 16 weeks PP and my incision still looks like crap. I’ve done 3 rounds of antibiotics and even went to the hospital every day to get it dressed properly. I did have an internal bleed which seeped out of my incision for 3+ weeks following birth and I popped a stitch. But I’m still not better 4 months out.

Air as much as you can Did you get a swab taken? I was given Flucloxacillin twice I til my swab results came back and I actually needed co amoxiclav- if it hasn't defo push for it!

Have you tried placing a sanitary towel in between your scar and belly? I found this really helped keep mine clean and dry and free from infections xx

@Victoria I did this make sure it’s a non scented one tho it was a life saver I never had an infection I used to lay on my back and lift up my belly slightly to let it get air my section healed really well

Mines the same keep it in the air

i haven’t had this but i’m nearly 3 weeks pp and i’ve been on 2 courses of antibiotics with an infection, my wound also slightly opened up. i’d definitely go back to show them, i know it’s stressful but it’s better to heal 100%♥️. air it, pat clean with warm water and pat dry xx

I used my stroller fan to blow on my incision after it was infected. I did that every few hours for like 30 seconds. It was hard to keep it from getting hot and sweaty. I also had ingrown hairs that were causing irritation, my OB was nice enough to gently pluck them for me 🥴🙃

I’ve had two c sections and both times my scars were infected with a foul smell. The second time it was extremely sore and the pain was as if I just had my c section again. But for me anti-biotics did work. I would suggest keep patting it dry every hour with some tissue too and it does get very sweaty hence why it gets infected. Hope it heals for you soon

mine went like this following an infection i went to doctors and they gave me a cream to use instead of oral antibiotics
