Midwife appt

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a midwife appt? I think this new referal scheme is such a nightmare because have heard someone say they nearly got to 10/11 weeks before getting an appointment😳.. I know before they did blood and urine samples as soon as possible. I am contemplating booking a private scan. The wait is just annoyingly long.

Where are you located? I got an 8 week booking appointment with no issues.

Bradford, West yorkshire

And am 6weeks pregnant

It looks like they have the same system in Bradford as they do where I am - I filled out the form online and got my appointment date through. When did you refer?

I think I had mine just after 9 weeks it is a long wait especially as I knew from like 4/5 weeks it can take a little longer just depends on when you referred yourself

up to 10 weeks is normal for your first appt - https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/finding-out/your-first-midwife-appointment/

You’re too early yet. I got mine around 8/9 weeks with both my boys✨the wait is nothing compared to what’s coming😅 you’ll get a booking app through then after you’ve attended that you’ll get a dating scan date for around 12 weeks x

Which hospital? I applied for Calderdale and they sent me a letter online around a week later. My booking app is booked for Monday when I’ll be just 7w3d x

It definitely varies by area but it can be up to 10 weeks for your booking bloods
