Don't panic, just start giving them again now you've remembered 😊

@Sophie I feel like I’ve failed as a mother. Your matter-of-fact but soft tone means a lot. Thank you

Honestly, you haven't failed at all. I haven't always remembered to give the drops either and my little one is thriving. Please don't stress!

I never did, nobody told me😅 she's fine

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about it, I gave my daughter them when she was born, then once we ran out I didn’t get round to buying any more for ages and by that time I thought what’s the point.

Omg 😅😅 okay this makes me feel SO much better I appreciate all of you so much!!!

Oh, is the baby on formula now when not EBF? if so, I believe you don't have to give vit D as it should be in formula, but consult HV if needed x

Baby isn't exclusively nursed anymore so the drops aren't needed. Formula has vitamin D.

Formula has all the vitamins baby needs only need to give vit d drops if little one is having less that 500ml a day x

I was told once you're giving 120ml of formula you don't need to anymore as the formula has enough vitamin d in it. Your kiddos is fine dw

Don’t stress. If he’s getting formula and weaning he’s getting everything he needs xx

My 6 month old has never had vit d drops , I was hit and miss with my now 3 yr old too

Not all countries recommend vitamin d drops 🤷‍♀️

@Gloria that kinda makes sense, because not all countries have as little sunlight as the UK 🤣 in the UK all adults are recommended to take vit d through winter, but it's purely because we don't get enough sunlight. Personally I don't give vit d to my breastfed baby because it's not in breastmilk, and if it's not in breastmilk, then baby surely doesn't need it.

@Charlotte well sure but for producing vitamin d you have to be exposed to the sun - a lot. But no baby in no country spends that much time in the sun without clothes Medicine just don’t agree on the need everywhere,

Since he's not EBF now, how much is he eating, and how much of it is formula? If he's getting enough formula, then you don't need to give drops because the formula has vitamin d. Don't stress, we are all doing the best we can.
