Do you have camera in his room? Does he make any noise or cries before it? We went through stage when he moved a lot in bed and my husband took him to toilet after that 1 toilet he sleeps till morning. Now he goes himself to toilet if he needs 🙂
Have a think about whether he snores/could have sleep apnoea. Is his daytime behaviour a bit hyperactive? Does he sometimes nap in the afternoon or in the car? Mine had a sleep study then large tonsils and adenoids removed which improved his sleep, and I’d put his occasional bed wetting at age 6 down to poor quality sleep, things improved straight away. Have a google of the link between poor sleep and bed wetting, and speak to the doctor if you think it might help x
My 7 year old wet his nappy every night, we tried the bedwetting alarm and it was starting to work in waking him up and the wet patch was gettting smaller but the cable kept getting caught round his neck so we stopped. Bizarrely he just stopped wetting the bed the next day and hasn’t since! So it must have done something!
Mine only stopped a few months ago and turned 8 in October. I think I read ages ago that sometimes boys take a bit longer to stop. My eldest stopped around 7/8 too. I got a few waterproof sheets, Amazon’s have good ones but since the summer I started to ask him to take some ‘ownership’. I stopped moaning/getting annoyed/complaining about wet sheets and just said if he has an accident then to take his sheets off in the morning then I know to give them a wash. It seemed to work with my eldest too and stopped them trying to hide that the bed was wet. I also stopped him having a drink an hour before he went to bed and using the toilet twice. In the past I’ve tried waking him up around 2 hours after he falls asleep to take him to the toilet but that wasn’t helping him get up independently. My last resort was going to be taking him to the doctor to check there wasn’t a medical reason why but thankfully I don’t need to now. Hopefully yours will grow out of it too.
