Copper coil

Does anyone have this? And what are your experiences with it? I’ve just had baby number 2 and definitely no where near ready for baby number 3..

I had this and I bled so heavily that the coil actually came out I personally would not recommend but then I know other women that have had it and loved it

I had the mirina coil in at 12weeks postpartum in September and I spotted lightly everyday for 2 months, but now have nothing (breastfeeding so hard to tell if I’d have a period or not). It’s definitely still there. I was fancying the copper coil because of the lack of hormones but the gp kinda said they take more of those out. The mirina has a smaller amount of hormones that the pill or implant - I’ll let you google it properly x

Have this and the first 6 months it was two heavy periods a month with terrible non period related cramping…then after that my cycle resumed to one period a month but I have the heaviest periods ever! Zero out of 10! I have an appointment to remove mine..

I have had this fitted for 15 months purely because of the lack of hormones. When it’s not my period I’ve not had any issues but would definitely say my cramps and periods are about 5x worse on it. I’m hoping to have it removed in April to try to get pregnant again. But after that me or my partner will be having the op! I hate all contraception for different reasons 🫠 lots of my friends have raved about just using the fertility tests as contraception and had no issues, maybe you could look in to that? It’s quite popular now they’re realising side effects of the pill etc

Thank you ladies! I have a consultation booked for Monday but having read quite a lot on it I’m not sure I want to go ahead with it now.. cycle tracking is abit of a faf with 2 kids. I got pregnant very late in my cycle with my second baby (no idea how?!) so I don’t think I can trust that fully now 😅 If I was 100% done having babies my partner would be definetly getting the snip as I agree contraception is just 🙄🙄🙄 but definetly want one more baby in a few years so not too sure what I will do. But thank you for the responses ☺️
