I was so overwhelmed too with exactly the same situation I had to change my toddlers seats as his was too wide and then I have one in the middle using the car seat to keep it down. As like you only had 2 isofix. I do have 7 seats but didn’t want to put any of them in the boot, plus with twins comes more stuff so the boot is definitely needed. I found a local shop, which specialised in just baby items Specifically prams and car seats I booked an appointment and they tried out different options. Thankfully managed to keep the original car seat we had for my toddler when he was a baby so we didn’t have to buy 3 new ones so if you find somewhere take the car seats you have and they will try and work with them. These are the ones I have: For reference I have a discovery Maxi cosi titan Maxi cosi pebble 360 on isofix Maxi cosi coral (this is the one in the middle, and it’s perfect for that as it’s lighter because the base stays in the car, just the seat bit comes out)
I’m exactly the same twins will be here in Feb and have a 2 year old and also had an Audi q2. I did so much research and have just last week gave up and changed my car and got a Peugeot 5008 which has the 3 isofix points across the backseat and fits any 3 combinations or car seats. Also has 2 seats in the boot but don’t plan on using them which makes a huge boot space for a double pram.
Thanks so much for these replies. After much deliberation I think we are going to opt for a Peugeot 5008 as well. I can’t believe there aren’t more SUVs with three isofix points in the back seat.
I've heard that multimac is unsafe so research that a lot before you contemplate. We bought a bigger car with our twins as we had rotating seats (joie isafe spin) from birth and in our car (skoda fabia) we could only spin one at a time and the 2 seats took up the whole back seat. So we upgraded to a vw touran when they were 5 months. Also this meant we could fit more in the boot than just the pushchair. I'd go to a car seat shop as they will test the seats and think about a long term plan. When we had our third we discovered that although our seats are really safe they are really wide so even with 3 full size seats in a row in our touran we couldn't fit 3. So then had to upgrade with narrower seats to fit all 3 children in.
