I had vaginal assisted delivery with my first so this is a whole new experience xx

I had a c section about 5 weeks ago after a horrifically loooooong induction process and honestly it was okay. Little man was out within 10 minutes and it was all over with in less than 30. It’s not as scary as you would think, couldn’t feel a thing not even the spinal block being installed, recovery was fine obviously limited for the first couple weeks but I was up on my feet day 2. Best advice I could give you is keep on top of your pain relief and listen to your body in the first few weeks. I would 100% opt for a section if we were to have another. Good luck momma you got this! 😘 xx

@Carly that sounds very reassuring! Xx

I had a c section at 39 weeks due to having gestational diabetes. I went in for an induction which had some nasty complications so I ended with a c section but honestly the section was fantastic, the process was seamless, baby was out in no time at all and was as healthy as could be. As Carly said above, just keep on top of your pain meds for the first couple of weeks, even if you don't feel you need them as they'll be doing more than you think. Also don't rush back to normal life, you need to take time to heal. I showered 16hrs after and went home after 24hrs but the healing has been a dream. Happy for you to message if you want an ear or any further info. You've got this xx

What pain meds do they send you home With is it just paracetamol and ibuprofen?

@Kate I defo won’t be any rush in getting back to normal I’m really lucky my other half will be around will I’m fully recovered xx

I’ve had 2 planned C-Sections.. both absolutely lovely experiences! :) got my skin to skin pretty much straight away and then held baby as soon as the first initial checks were done all the way back to recovery :) my recovery after both was soo good! I thought I might struggle second time round but was off all pain meds by day 3 and was doing the food shopping 2 days later with both kids! Planned C-Sections are so much calmer than emergency and I think that helps with the recovery as your body hasn’t gone through the labor beforehand … good luck & congratulations :)

My 1st was emergency cesarean after 36 hours labour. Horrific. 2nd was elected cesarean due to trauma and gestational diabetes and it was so much easier and a nicer experience. Recorvery was easier than emergency also although you will be in pain for atleast 2 weeks afterwards. Still, its alot nicer to have a planned one. You will be fine hun. Im 37 weeks on sat and booked in for 3rd cesarean. Hope all goes well for u (it will) xx

I had a section at 37weeks! Baby was showing big on scans so section was booked in for 39 weeks but little girly wanted to come early and my waters broke. When I got to the hospital they confirmed it was my waters and I got sent to the labour ward to wait for the section. I was really nervous as a first time mom and my partner had to wait outside whilst they did the spinal and I got very emotional and tearful, as soon as the surgeons noticed I was crying they all came over to me and reassured me that everything is fine and all started singing feliz navidad - strangest yet most amazing experience ever lol. Partner came in and they started the section I didn’t even know and baby was out within 15 mins, everyone is so chill and calm and you can have the radio on and take to your partner. The person who controls yours meds is amazing and will listen to what ever you need (anti sickness ect)! Would recommend a section to anyone! Xx

@Kelly I got sent home with iron tablets for 28 days, blood thinning injections for 10 days, and a week or twos worth of pain killers (similar to cocodamol I think). They they advise to take paracetamol along with your pain meds. I’m on antidepressants so I can’t take ibuprofen otherwise that would have been included x
