It’s definitely just a man thing! Personally we aren’t doing presents for each other this year, just got other things to save for and wanted to make it extra special for the kids instead, but I totally appreciate your frustration. My partner is also a ‘last minute shopper’. I’ve sorted everything for the kids this year (albeit with both our money) but I think it’s just a female/male things our brains are wired differently haha! You never know he may have got something delivered somewhere else or have it well hidden! X
My partner hasn't done any shopping and I've managed it all, same every Christmas and today I'm all shopped out, woke up with a severe migraine as spent most of my evening sorting out Amazon shopping stuff 😤
It’s a man thing for sure. My dad always does his shopping on Christmas Eve
I think it very rare that men remember to do this. I always buy my other half something from our daughter, but he never remembers. I am used to this now. Though he did remember to actually get a mother's Day card this year and got my daughter to draw in. That card was the best thing and meant more than any present. Anything she has drawn or made means the world to me as it such a great memory to look back on. I like to send family photo cards, that my lg has drawn in so they have their own memory to look back on. It because I buy him a card from our daughter every birthday, father's day and Christmas. Which she draws in. So finally he actually remembered, lol. The main thing is our daughter has Christmas presents. Which he buys what he wants to get her, I buy what I want to get her. Then we put them all together from both of us. He does buy me Christmas presents too from him. So I can't really complain x
I think this is quite common, men definitely think differently to woman. We just want some thought to be put into a gift and that means not leaving it until the last minute to show they have thought of us! I use to have this conversation with my ex hubby regularly! However, now we’ve separated and he’s a great dad to our girls, he again doesn’t ‘think’ about making their bdays special etc this is the first year in the 5 since splitting that we are doing a separate Xmas and I know he’s left all their shopping to the last minute too 😂 it’s just his way.
