No FAMILY At Christmas Time

This time of year can hit really hard. I have no family. My husbands parents have been passed for a while. I never had a dad growing up and my mum lives far away and I’m not really in contact with her. So we have no where to go and no one to host at Christmas time. This was the same growing up as a kid. I hate it and I also know my kids will experience quiet Christmases without the hustle and bustle of everyone around and lots of kids/cousins to play with. I want to start hosting other families and their children who may be in similar situations but I don’t know where to start. Can anyone else relate?

And where are you based?

Your not alone there, no family here, just my partner and my daughter. Since we settled in Australia, it has always been like this and was hard the first few times but now I am grateful to spend it with just the most important people for me and save us the trouble of too many obligations to see family, eat too much and pretend lol, we are also more than happy to travel overseas at this time of the year and discover the world. Super generous offer from you to host other people with no family 🥰 Hope you had a beautiful sunny Christmas 🎄🎁

If you're part of a local community page/group in FB for your area you could post on there People do this in my local area and there's always interest and many become really good friends

Where in Australia are you lovely?

@Sonia Shepparton, Vic

@Margaret Currently in Shepparton. Hoping to move to Bendigo by Christmas next year 😊
