Amount of milk

Hi all, I know I shouldn’t compare as every baby is different but roughly how much milk your 1 month old babies drink per feeding? Quinlan is a big baby born at 9lb 1oz who currently drink around 130-140ml of expressed milk per feeding. I don’t want to overfeed him but anything less and he will not settle. Forgotten to say he east every around 3 hours, sometimes less than 3 hours sometimes longer than 3 hours.

Feed on demand babe don’t worry about it he might also be going through a growth spurt and just want more and it’s fine 😌

Honestly I just let my baby drink however much she wanted to! My midwife said all babies are different and they will let you know if they don’t wanna drink anymore! And if they drink too much it will just come back up. I think at around a month my baby girl was chugging 4 ounces every 2-3 hours, and it quickly went to 5-6 ounces when she was 2/3 months. She’s 6 months now and will happily drink 8 ounces sometimes and 4 other times. She’s was 7lbs at birth but gained back her weight and more in the first week and just kept gaining but now it’s evened out. :) I wouldn’t worry about over feeding. Especially at a month! You are also likely to be cluster feeding/growth spurt so baby will drink a lot more !

That's fine honestly I remember me saying to a Dr about my little man having 150 a feed and them saying I was overfeeding. No I wasn't it's what he needed

I feed Hugo every 2/2 and a half hours (he always is hungry lol) and he was having 120ml, and is now having 140ml. He is 9 weeks old and he weighed 9lb 6oz - now weighs 15lb 🤣 If he’s still hungry after 120, up it. If he’s happy with 120, stick it that 🤍

As said above every baby is different babies won't feed if they're not hungry. They're way more intelligent than welcome think . If their not hungry they won't latch properly and would spit up milk. Personally I'd give baby what they want and follow their lead

Thank you all, I think I just needed reassurance that I am not doing the wrong thing. Mind you he is my 3rd child but it’s been 12 years since my last one that it feels like a first time again.

Mines nearly 9 months and has 6 5oz bottles. She's had this since about 4 months old.
